Students from GCS had the best time ever during their Ski Trip to Switzerland.
On the evening of February 19, eleven intrepid skiiers
(Agnes, Ariana, Chris, Isla, Jeanne, Joseph, Kyle, Mathias, Max, Methea and Patricia) and two nervous teachers (Ben and Deborah) set off for Crans-Montana, Switzerland, via Geneva and Abu Dhabi. One week, one broken arm, one birthday, one lost camera, one lost wallet, one broken camera, one hired ski outfit that was accidentally packed and a few grey hairs later we returned on the evening of February 27, our arrival heralded by thunder, lightning and flash flooding. Our mornings were punctuated by the call of "SKIIIII TIIIIIIIME" from Instructor Loic; lunchtimes were a gobble of yummy sandwiches and soup; apres ski was warmed with cups of hot chocolate, WII, PS and fusseball challenges; and evenings were full of feeding frenzies and a torchlight parade followed by ghost stories, an aborted trip to the local cinema, a disco, a card game called Werewolves, Who Wants to be a Millionaire, a trip to the village of Crans, bowling, sledging, snow sculptures, and many other events that make for great memories. Of course we had the inevitable squabbles, injuries and power struggles, but I know we all had a great time we will never forget, mainly thanks to the amazing talent, endless patience and exceptional organisational skills shown by the Les Elfes staff: managers Jac and Nico, instructors Jenny, Loic and Emma, activities directors Dave and Celine, chef Remy and cleaners Sarah and her husband, and little Aunay, to whom we are very grateful.
