Inside Student Stories
Over the course of the school year we will uncover many hidden talents through investigative reporting.
James Hanson 16 years old was born in the U.K and left to live in Hong Kong when he was eight weeks old. He lived in Hong Kong for eight years and has lived in Dubai for seven years.
Golf is one of his interests. He has a handicap of 18 and I play at Arabian Ranches Golf Course although he plays at Sharjah Golf and Resort and Jebel Ali Golf Club.
He also likes to keep fit. In January 2012 he ran the 10k Standard Chartered Dubai Marathon, completing it in 52 minutes. He also works out at Fitness First most days, and especially enjoys the running and cycling classes.
Other interests are horse riding, trick riding and Dressage. He rides twice a week and last season competed in the competitions at the Dubai Polo and Equestrian Club. He will be competing this season, in his first competition and just recently placed 3rd in the Junior Intro test.

Maxime Gaudreau, Grade 10, is a Canadian and has been at GCS since its’ opening in 2007. Ice hockey has been a big part of his life ever since he was a little boy. He has always been very passionate about this sport.
Ice Hockey requires you to be very fit, which is why he contributes all his spare time to training. He is in the gym, working out 2 hours a day, cycling and running to improve on his cardio endurance. He also wakeboard every day in the summer to keep fit throughout the summer.
Ice hockey requires commitment to try for a place on the NHL (National Hockey League) a professional league with teams in Canada and the United states. He wants to thank his parents for supporting him by making sure he gets to all his practices and games, cheering him on every step of the way.

Shubhit Brahmwar Captures Mumbai!
After much deliberation by the judges – It has been confirmed the winner of the ADCB Talented Teens Art category as Shubhit Brahmwar - CONGRATULATIONS! It was an extremely tough decision as all the finalists were fantastic - however there can be only one winner.

"Mikko is the youngest member of Tamberkz Group of Photographers, he consider his co-members as one of his influences in photography and they have helped him developed his skills by giving him some ideas. He likes to take macro photography and also finds portrait and travel photography interesting.”
