At Greenfield Community School we will educate generations of children who will develop and use their talents to create a sense of curiosity, tolerance, belonging, meaning and contribution within their communities. Such children will grow into adults who are bright and shining lights in their world.

Greenfield Community School opened its doors in September 2007 and is a candidate school* for the International Baccalaureate's Primary Years Programme (PYP) and the Middle Years Programme (MYP). In September 2008 the school welcomed students into its Middle Years Programme, for students aged 11 through 16. In 2011 we plan to open the Diploma Programme (DP) for students age 16-18 (subject to IB authorisation).

Greenfield Community School is pursuing authorisation as an International Baccalaureate World School. These are schools that share a common philosophy ,a commitment to providing a high quality, challenging, international education, creating an enduring passion for learning and empowering each student to make a positive contribution to their local and global communities. This will be achieved through the PYP and MYP.

Through implementing an international curriculum programme students are encouraged to be curious and ask questions, knowing that this will develop their capacity to think creatively. We encourage reflection upon their thinking and lead them towards an understanding of their own abilities to learn. We teach students how to learn, to understand how learning works best to propagate positive learning habits and help them to move towards fulfilling their potential. Recognising that healthy bodies create healthy minds, physical education and sports are important in our extra-curricular programme.

* Only schools authorised by the International Baccalaureate organisation (IBO) can offer any of its three programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), or the Diploma Programme.
